Has anyone upgraded the analog clock in the RCF to the 2020+ clocks?
IMO, the old clocks are just plain and boring and I understand it’s a thing of the past and some don’t care, but I think the brand new 2020+ center vent is very elegant and adds more character to the car. Much more eye appealing.
I’ve searched eBay and such but no luck. And have no idea if it’s even plug and play with the connectors. If I really wanted to I might have to order part from Lexus which will probably be an arm and a leg...
The new clock is much nicer. I personally don't like the clock that much. I wish it had a more motorsport look to it instead of luxury. I also wish it could be used as a timer.
Can probably browse car-part.com and find a wrecked 19+ RC to pull that piece from.
I like the analog touch in a luxury car. Sounds cheesy but the clock was on my list of things that tipped me toward the RCF, Infiniti removed it from the Q60.
I didn't even realize my 2020's clock looked like that. The detail looks nice but I never even really paid too much attention to it. I find it really stupid that cars come with analog clocks honestly.. It takes me forever to figure out the time. I'd rather just a digital clock so I can instantly look and see the time and not figure out after a few seconds what time it is..lol
On a S class or LS sure... but in an RCF I feel like it should have been something else or eliminated.
You could always upgrade the the saphire clock ;-p
What is the difference? I did not even realize our clocks in the pre-2020 RCFs were different from those in the 2020+ RCFs. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks.
2019 back has single row of 8 pins i believe. 2020+ has two rows of pins on the connector. 2019 back you can adjust the time with buttons on the clock assembly. 2020 plus has no buttons and I believe done in the infotainment system.

Ah OK. Thanks. My 2017 RX350 F-Sport 3 analog clock is like that where you adjust it in the infotainment system and then the clock needles spin automatically.

You are correct. All adjustments are done in the infotainment unit. Otherwise, time derives from GPS data.
