According to my market research, used 2015 - 2016 RCFs with low mileages (below 20K KM) are going in the 60s CAD. The 2017+ asking prices are higher with low mileage. The ones that have 40K to 50K KM are going for around miid to high 50s CAD on the average. There are couple I saw with higher mileage ones in Ontario that are in the high-40s, but they have much higher than 50K KM. This also does not take into account their condition, maintenance, wear and tear etc. that also affects pricing.

There are some available in the east so there is better pricing, but here in Alberta, there are none for sale simply because of the rarity.
Yeah, I'm actually expecting a high mileage RCF with my budget. But after seeing the new 2020 facelift, I really want it but don't want to wait any longer

We have a fraction of the inventory you have in the US. Also, where I live, I have never seen another RCF on the road. I see an ISF every once in a while, but never seen another RCF.
I hear you, but with only 130 or so on average for sale at any one time in the US, the market is all of North America, the local market is competing with every RCF for sale at all times and each local market is not really independent considering how few of these cars are available and the relative inexpensive options available to ship cars.

Have you considered the ISFs? it is a great car with everything going for it. It has held up very well and proven itself. Around 100K KM ISFs are in the high-20s to low-30s. Like this clean example in Burnaby. RCF is really a conceptual evolution of ISF with 10 - 12% incremental improvements rather than a revolution. Certainly the price gap is bigger than the difference between the cars.

True, but the ISF has something going for it the RCF doesn't, there are only 2-10 for sale period in the entire US at any given time, kind of a rareity akin to an NSX, RCF used market is getting a fresh pump of off lease cars now from 2016, that will happen next year for off-lease 2017, etc. etc. etc. There is a big gap in rare-ity on the used car market between and ISF and RCF. Not sure if they manufactured more of the RCF now than ISF or people just hoard the ISF, but I am sure someone here can answer the manufacturing question.

It is just the natural progression as cars get older. In 2007 and 2008, Lexus made a lot of ISFs, but many of them probably don't exist anymore or very high mileage. Don't know the exact numbers, but 2008 - 2010 model years come up for sale a lot more than 2011 - 2014. The production dropped significantly from 2011 onwards.

Edit: here are the numbers for your curiosity

Thank you, I appreciate the time you took to post this. What's it like moving a car from the US to Canada or vice versa, any huge hurdles or tax issues?

With the conversion rate, moving car from Canada to US might be feasible. Though, there are taxes, duties and also you have to legalize the car locally. In other words, get it to meet the local regulations etc.

Also, to mention, generally cars like GSF, ISF or RCF are only spring/summer driven here so they don't have salt, rust etc. issues as they get into high mileage. Also, they have lower than usual mileage for their age. That is why cars especially from the west are sought after where there are rust issues due to dry weather.
