Default I feel bad for 2020 Lexus RC F buyers

I don’t know if they started it this year or last year but I’m on their website and they started putting that fake carbon fiber in the interior again. The same one that they used on the IS F. You can’t get it anymore unless you pay an extra $11,400 for a “Carbon Fiber Package”. On top of that they force you to get the $4,875 “Premium Package” if you go for Carbon Fiber Package. On earlier model years the CF interior came with the $4,400 premium package. Lexus shame on you. You can’t have a sunroof on your RC F anymore because if you do you’ll get a fake carbon fiber interior trim on your $65,000+ luxury performance car. It’s not a big deal but Lexus needs to get their ***** together lol. Also the CF package adds in the same items listed as the premium package so it makes it seem like you’re getting more for your $11,400 package (it might be a mistake).

Don’t feel bad for me. I kinda like the silver fiber trim, adds some contrast. Then again I had carbon leather trim in my e92 m3 that was just leather stamped to look like carbon fiber that I liked.

I have carbon fiber interior and to be honest, I don't care for the interior carbon trim pieces. Yeah, it looks pretty and had wow factor for about 10 minutes when I bought it, but that is about it. It does nothing functionally.

The carbon fiber roof on the other hand is functional by stiffening the chassis and lowering the center of gravity. The interior carbon trim pieces are not even that noticeable.

I’m not sure if the fake carbon fiber was there since 2015 but since watching the reviews of the 2020 RCF on youtube I noticed some review cars had it lol. I was like “they’re doing this **** AGAIN?” Lol

Yes, there was a silver carbon-like trim available on the 2015 - 2019 non carbon/TVD RCFs. I have seen pictures of it. Again, I don't know if was a base model thing or came with an option package.

Like I said before it’s not a big deal lol. But they had something called Silver Performance trim. It’s not like the Silver (Carbon Fiber imitation) that we’re seeing in 2020.

“If it’s not a big deal then why make a post about it?” Honestly seeing this again in 2020 feels like Lexus is cheaping out. They should have had two levels of CF packages for this year.
Level 1: Interior and Rear Wing (speed activated)
Level 2: Interior, Wing, Side Skirts, Roof, etc.

I ordered a 2021 which includes the carbon package and didn't give this much thought as I cared more about the exterior carbon. I figured those parts alone would be around $4-5K. Are there even aftermarket CF for the 2020+? Plus, it's installed at factory so no messing with fitment.

Congratulations. The quality of the factory carbon fiber is amazing. The pattern, the gloss and finish are all great.
