So the nav screen in my 2015 has gone to ***** and I am past the warranty to do the tsb. Lexus quoted my almost $3,000 to replace the entire thing. So I looked online and found a quick quite to replace the screen for less than $70.
I bought the part from Longo Lexus for $75 OTD. The part is 86134-53030.
You’ll only need a 10mm, a Phillips screw driver, and some panel removing tools at Amazon for less than $10.
The old screen with damaged coating Popped out bottom price and ignition plastic piece and gauge cluster Removed screen Disassembled screen and replaced with new screen New screen installed Entire work took less than 30min!
Eesh how does the screen even get like that in the first place?
I think it’s just that the coating is very flimsy. I’ve read some people use just water and a microfiber and it scratches it up goo. Some use aggressive cleaners and it will do it too. Some leave it out in the sun for too long and degraded the coating even more. Hopefully the updated screen protector coating is better. Been trying to find an additional protectant film to go over it on Amazon but can’t find any. 😢
I did buy a protector from Lexar but never put it on after I replaced my screen back in 2018. You will not need the additional protector the revised screens are that good, my screen is still as good as new even after multiple cleanings.

No trouble with washing or wiping dust off of it? What do you do to clean it?
A light pass with swiffer duster to capture stray dust particles followed with a fine mist of invisible glass cleaner (I prefer the one in aerosol canister) on a microfiber cloth. Dry off with opposite side of microfiber cloth and it's good to go.
Good write up. I didn't realize it is so easy to remove. Not trying to highjack your thread just thought I'd let everyone else know about another option. My screen looked almost exactly like yours. I rubbed on a coat of Turtle Wax Carnuauba Paste Cleaner wax let it dry and then wiped it off. The screen looked significantly better. I repeated this step 3 more times and the screen is good as new. I will use the Turtle wax to clean the screen in the future. Cleaning with the wax is probably over kill but I know it doesn't harm the screen. I did this 2 months ago and so far so good. It's been in cold weather 19 and hot weather 100+ with no problems and I haven't needed to clean the screen.

Wow! I’ll try that on the old screen I took out and see if that works. I actually have a Turtle Wax Cleaner Wax handy too! How long did you let dry? Did you put a protective screen on it after?

Think I'll try this wax method over the weekend, what do I have to lose, my screen looks terrible!
Question for anybody... since this time period is over for screen replacement is over for basic warranty, will my Lexus extended warranty cover this?
One reason I had not yet replaced the screen is that I did not want some technician leaving scratches or dents during installation. Now that I know it's not that hard, I may just pay the cost of the new lens myself, and do the installation myself.

trust me, it’s extremely easy. But I’ll try the wax method this weekend on the old screen and post up photos of the results!
For those that do not know, the first years had a poor antiglare factory product in the screen and it would wipe off and look like crap, Lexus did do a limited time service recall but it has lapsed.
Mine looked like crap When I bought the car, apparently the dealer never told the previous owner they would fix it while the car was under warranty.
I couldn’t deal so before I bought a replacement screen I decided to pull it out disassemble and remove the rest of the anti glare with denatured alcohol. It took a bit of elbow grease but it came off perfectly and looks great. I’ll eventually do a write up for everyone seeing that it only cost me 30 cents worth of alcohol to remove it. Also, there is no glare with the screen so it’s almost a pointless thing in the first place. The screen does have matte look which looks great with the soft interior and I think I prefer it this way. I would not recommend trying to do this while the screen is in the car seeing that the alcohol will probably stain the interior and remove the paint from the black metal trim work. Take your time, it’s practically free so there’s no reason to rush.
I rubbed the Turtle Carnauba Wax past onto the screen with my fingers. Have a little more control of exactly where it goes. I let it dry 20 minutes then wiped it off. I then immediately reapplied to any areas that were still hazy and repeated the process. I did not put a protective screen on.
