It was my first time out there and I didn't want to go nuts.. Focused more on the line then actual speed.. Going up the back straight I was shifting right around 7k.
Nice, took mine to the track for the first time recently as well. Really enjoyed learning how to drive on a track and only started finding the limits of the car, thing is a beast.
This was at Summit Point, main course, HPDE1 with NASA racing.
Nice driving! Nice to see you using all the track...and then some! HPDE1 is the lowest group? Based on what I see, (I've done hundreds of laps at Summit in my old Camaro race car and on iRacing), you'll be moving up soon! Keep the videos coming! How'd the car do, temps, brakes, tires?

Reason: typos, etc

Yes, HPDE1 is the lowest/novice group. I've done autocross before, but this was first time on a road course. Thanks for the vote of confidence! Using the whole track was something I struggled with the first day, since I'm so used to mountain driving where you better stay in your lane because you can't see what's coming ahead.
Car did great, oil temps creeped up a few ticks past midpoint, but came back down quickly on the cool down lap. Brakes did great, no hint of fade, using OEM pads. I think after another weekend of basic skill building, I'll need to upgrade the tires. The car has Michelin AS3+ on there now, and only started to feel the limit at the end of the final session. But I think that was mainly because there wasn't enough cool down time between the last 2 sessions. Didn't realize how much squeal there was until watching the video, haha.
Definitely, get new tires. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S with XL sidewalls at least if you want to track your car. Cup 2 are better track tires, but they have less tread life and also would be less ideal on the streets. Even driving on the streets, they feel much better than the OEM Pilot Super Sports I had. Due to stiffer construction, they have almost no roll, pitch and dive, which the OEM Super Sports had.

Just be careful when exploring the limits of the track...you looked like you grabbed a bit of dirt/grass on the entry to T3....that can gut ugly a few more inches to the right!

The AS3+ are XL rated tires, was extremely impressed by how well they gripped and handled. PS4S are definitely gonna happen.

Sport+, TVD track, manual mode. After a few laps in auto, it kept trying to shift too soon and didn't want to downshift readily. Went for manual mode and didn't look back.
