Default Getting help with first RCF purchase

For about 6 weeks now, I have been searching the area for a decent 2015-2017 RCF. I fell in love with the car after a test drive and I'm purchasing one as soon as I find the right deal. Here is my experience so far...good deals on solid RCFs usually mean that the car is sold within 2-3 weeks. These things move FAST. So my question is this...Today I came across this guy;

2017 RCF (Blue)

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why this has been on the market for almost 4 months. It seems like a very good deal and the CARFAX has it as one owner, no accidents;

2017 RCF CARFAX

This might seem like a stupid question but is it the color? This vehicle is about 290 miles from me so I would only go after it once a local Lexus dealership has gone over it...my spidey senses are tingling though. The main reason being, why isn't this a CPO? Makes me scratch my head a bit. You guys are the experts and this community is small enough that someone here may know about this car personally. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forums! The car you're looking at has very low miles, which is a plus. It doesn't have the Performance Package (which means no TVD). I can't really help you with the CPO thing... It does look REALLY good, since it's got only 15,000 miles and its a one owner.

It has the 10 split spoke forged BBS wheels and not the optional 20 spoke hand polished BBS wheels (if that matters to you). As indicated above, it does not have the $6000 option of TVD/carbon fiber so $47K is relative to the original MSRP the car had. Probably the dealership gets lots of offers, but no one is offering to pay $47K for it despite the low mileage. Did you talk to the dealership? The dealership might be sticking with the $47K, which is why it is in the market still.

Here is a picture of the 20 spoke 19 inch hand polished wheels (and you see the carbon fiber on my RCF)

Thanks man. I have had it for over 3 years and has been a joy. Feel free to ask any questions that will help you with your decision. It is a great car and absolutely amazing to own.

It's not a CPO because it's being sold by an Acura dealer. Actually the USB is a very nice color, IMHO.

There is no curb rash on the wheels, a big plus. Those wheels will be easier to clean than the hand polished wheels, they are also BBS. One downside is that the car is fitted with BFGoodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S, an inexpensive all season tire. But, that's easily fixable.

Otherwise looks good IMO.

Thoughts on this one?

2015 Blue RCF, Performance Package, 27k miles

It is local, so I can actually get my trade in appraised. I am planning on heading up there this weekend. I've been told those tires are ****, so I will be bringing that up in negotiations.

As we discussed in the PMs, the tires have minimal tread left and they are Continentals. You can use that as a leverage in negotiation to get them either to put brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on or give you a discount. Make sure you check the brake pads as well. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S all in with road hazard warranty and installed cost me $1815 CAD just recently so they are quite expensive.

Having said that, the car looks like it is in great shape in the pictures and has low mileage for a 2015. Has carbon/TVD and the blue color is very highly regarded by many.

Good morning everybody, Im still in the market myself for a used RC-F. To Slurm818, Im in the NY/NJ area myself and i actually went to look at that specific RC-F myself. As you mentioned, if a good deal RC-F comes out, its usually gone within 2-3 weeks, I know because i've been in the market for almost a year and have done extensive research on this vehicle. Yes, it doesn't have TVD or the carbon fiber roof but I know the history of this car. It was a young man from NJ, took the car to VA/MD area for almost 2 years and then brought it back i believe for a trade in. It was a 1 owner car and no accidents or anything like that. Just like you i was also very curious onto why this car hasnt been sold and been on the market for a very long time. The only thing i can tell you is, IF you decide on this ( i actually declined on this car myself) try to get a cheaper price because the car hasn't been that well taken care off because i see alot of scratches and swirls on the car (barely visible but i'm picky about things like that). Also the main reason why i declined was the color of the interior. It is stated as gray but it is actually a more Beige color. It also looks alittle faded and to my opinion, looks so ugly that i actually declined this car because of that.

To those looking for an RC-F: I'm considering selling mine (something else has caught my eye). 2015, Ultra White with performance package; just under 30k easy, never tracked miles. Owned and absolutely babied since new (5 miles on the clock when I took delivery). Serviced ONLY at the dealership; ever. Joe-Z exhaust, PPE headers (installed by PPE!), RR racing chip, Magnaflow hi-flow cats, carbon LFA-style steering wheel, new PS4s (1k miles), front-end clear bra'd and fully ceramic coated. No one touches my car but me and the professionals I know and trust. Passenger seat rarely ridden in; back seats never ridden in. Clear title in hand. PM me and we can discuss if you're interested. This is my second RC-F and third F car (another member on CL bought it). Good luck on your searches!
