I was looking at options for upgrading the 7" OEM display on my 2015 RCF and found this unit: Has anyone installed this? If so, what are your thoughts? Are there other options available?

 

Now that is pretty sexy!! And still retain OEM inform apps, and functionality...thats even more sexy!

Does anyone on here have it? Almost tempted to buy it just to use the OEM software on the larger screen. Interested in if Waze/Google Maps play over the car speakers or just the little speaker that comes with the unit.

 

I bought one and it is a very quality unit. If you use its nav system, it only plays through the small speaker, however, if you connect your phone and use the Waze/Google map, that will will be through the car speakers. You can switch between android system and the factory Lexus system. It sadly didn't play well with my beat sonic front camera interface so I had to sell it. The latest models now have apple CarPlay too.

How was fitment compared to OEM screen, and issues in that dept?

 

it snaps into place like factory with the 4 clips, but doesn’t have the bottom metal brackets to hold it even more securely. It stays in place though.

 

Could elaborate a bit more of the issues you were having with the beat-sonic f front Camera switcher?? I'm looking to add one to my system. I already have the Android navigation unit installed. Now I'm second guessing that...

Apple CarPlay would definitely seal the deal for me to upgrade this! At the price point of under $700....what a great mod to be able to have the larger screen with OEM software as well as Android software + Apple CarPlay

 

I think this is what you would need to allow Apple CarPlay. I have not tried it, but it looks like that is what it's for.

 

I like the looks of this a lot. Doing a little more research on the company Carsoll, see if I can dig up anything relevant or helpful.

 

the beatsonic camera interface is only designed to work with the factory display and The piggyback harness will not plug in.
