Default Intake Manifold Port work!!

Hey everybody I have just dropped off my intake manifold for my RCF to a machine shop that is going to do some port work on the runners and behind the throttle body since the throttle body is not as wide as the mouth of the manifold so they're just going to make the entry smoother there and then basically bore out the runners where they meet the heads there's a decent amount of aluminum to be removed. I provided a photo hopefully we'll have the manifold completed by next week then I can give you guys some more photos and the reason I have taken off on manifold is to upgrade my Nitrous system which is still top secret lol

*small fyi our manifolds are made by Yamaha*

Below stock imported RCF manifold. With gasket

Above 2 photos. Are of a ported rcf manifold. See below post for gasket on a stock unported head

Would the increase in flow affect your oem tune? Very interesting. I'm curious to see how it goes.

Good stuff! How much bigger are the intake ports on the cyl. heads? Much closer to the gaskets?

Also curious about cost and if the machine shop is making any statements about how this will improve performance? I mean we all know it should improve performance, more air volume, less turbulence, etc, but I guess the question is how the ECU / tune reacts to it.

Pretty rare for this kind of work to make significant impacts. The last 1/2" of the intake port is where the real work gets done and where the factory only pays lip service when they install the valve seats.

If the shop makes any claims at all, they're fools unless they've already done this work on a number - at least 5 - of these units and have some direct experience with the results.

Lets all take a step back from the "this won't work for gains talk " my manifold is already off as I previously stated for redoing my nitrous setup so I thought I might as well gasket Port match the manifold so let's all relax all I did was Port match my manifold I knew that I wasn't gonna see gains esp in NA format. I'm going be spraying nitrous directly into each cylinder. So more room for fuel and nos to mix so better for me.

Looks great. Nothing wrong with trying to squeeze out every drop of performance.

Can you post a picture with the gasket on the cyl. head? Are the ports actually the same size as the holes on the gasket? Thanks!

+1. Would love to see the port size in the head relative to the gasket size.

Looks good! What we don't want is the intake ports being bigger than the cyl. head ports. Looks like they are very close match now!

Yeah it's decent. I thought about having the heads done but estimates I got from a diff shop were almost 4k
