Default Tow Hook

I'm about to take my 2019 RC F to the track and need a tow hook. I sold my C7 Z06 before checking to see if those tow hooks would work. Any recommendations on type of hook or where to buy one? Thanks.

there are tons of them on amazon, just search lexus tow hook. OEM one runs roughly $150 USD so that gives you a baseline for what's considered expensive.

I was kind of hoping for a recommendation. Something that was quality that doesn't rust.

Oem one in the trunk works just fine. Just not real pretty.
Most after market ones don’t thread in very deep. Just a cosmetic mod. Prob won’t hold if you really were to get towed out of gravel trap.

What's wrong with the stock one? That's pretty much what it was designed for.

IMO, Nothing nice out there. I prefer nylon tow straps to OEM. The tow device in the trunk is superb (tight fitting) to anything on Amazon or Pegasus Road Racing. RCF not as easy as the Vette to find go-fast parts.

is that your car in pic?
does the tow hook rod actually thread in deeply into the receiving socket?
i find that most cheap after market tow hooks don’t actually fit. They just thread in like 2 turns. Guaranteed to pull out if you really had to be towed out by that connection.

Yeah, I knew putting a pic of my pace car tow hook would generate a comment. Yes, your critique is warranted. It does not fit well—compared to the frame-mounted tow hooks I had previously on my Z-06.

I have changed over to the Lexus OEM tow hooks, powder-coated yellow, and equipped with a 1500 lb caribeener or strap. Front and rear.

Nylon strap - thread looks pretty deep and listing seems honest (not meant for heavy towing, track pull purposes, etc).

Anybody else? Doing a track weekend 10/16 and would really like a functional strap if available... and leave my OEM hook and other heavy bits (ahem manual lol!) here at home.

^^^ just stick with the oem one. It’s a few lbs extra but guaranteed to work.
unless you’re going to take front bumper off and actually bolt a strap to the bumper structure itself.
I used the oem one for years. Got towed once...glad I had it.

Here’s a pic of the custom one I had made by Yperion on Instagram.
Solid Ti. Full threaded just like oem one.
