You should have sold it yourself and you would have ended up with the profit the dealership pocketed over and above the trade-in they gave you.
I've watched the market for the RC-F in SoCal for a long time. I've seen people who have been trying to sell their F's for months without success, and I've seen F's sitting at dealers for over 4 months at 38k. I got very close to what I wanted for trade in, plus a sweet deal on the Macan so it was no brainer for me!
