Default Enform App dropping Pandora

Announcement Link

Anyone have info on the new multimedia systems? The link provided in the announcement doesn't say much other than they are taking these apps out of the system.

Dear Lexus Guest,

Thank you for being a Lexus Enform App Suite customer.

As technology and markets change, third party application providers continuously evolve their products and services. On or around November 13th, 2018 a multimedia system update will appear on your vehicle display. After completion, PandoraŽ, OpenTableŽ, and Facebook Places will no longer be available in Lexus Enform App Suite, as these products and services will no longer be supported by the third party application providers.

In your Lexus, you can still enjoy PandoraŽ and other popular music applications via Bluetooth or USB connection. For your device’s compatibility and pairing instructions, please visit Lexus Mobile Link or Bluetooth FAQs. For additional inquires regarding Lexus Enform App Suite changes, click here.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please contact the Lexus Guest Experience Center at 1-800-255-3987 Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, or Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern Time.

Sincerely,

Lexus Enform Guest Support

One advantage of using the Enform to access Pandora (free version) is that ads are stripped out and i don't have to listen to ads.

I guess after November, I will connect Pandora via regular Bluetooth and there will be ads unless I sign up for paid Pandora.

I find this absolutely infuriating. I dont expect Lexus to upgrade older vehicles with new features like some other manufacturers do even though they absolutely could (Tesla, Ford, etc). I do expect that Lexus doesn't actively make my current vehicle worse by removing capability out of the car during the time I own it. Lexus should at least make owners whole by offering a similar capability that has replaced the old capability. For instance why not add a Spotify App if you are removing Pandora? This has class action lawsuit written all over it. Just noticed Pandora and Facebook were removed from my car today.

How can an App remove itself from your Cell Phone? I just had to pick up mine to see if mine did as well. Still there. Since they screwed up my initial EnForm Activation for 2 Months after I bought the car, they extended my subscription 4 months for the trouble. However, its not actually the Enform App that enables us to retrieve the "Enform Suite" with its numerous Apps - but Pandora was the only one I even used. Now I just do it via Bluetooth. instead.
Anyone REALLY like using any of the other Apps they offer in the Suite thing? I cant even recall what these other App offers are there! (Time to look it up again) But its weird it removed itself from your phone.
What ticks me off is that they even remove the ability for you to start your car using the Remote too! The Enform ability is one thing, but paying just to be able to start your car using the Remote is ridiculous!

IDK,. But yesterday the EnForm app just disappeared from my Android phone mysteriously. I had not "uninstall" anything.

My Bluetooth still works. So I stream music via the free account with Spotify.

I'll "reinstall" EnForm and see. But I don't really use much of the EnForm apps now that Pandora is gone.

I agree with you that Lexus should not have "dropped" the remote start feature IF ONE DID NOT KEEP THE ENFORM SUBSCRIPTION CURRENT!!! IT should be a "lifetime" optional feature if it was active at the time of sale. So imagine this:. After the OEM warranty is over.......the Sports+ feature will no longer be active UNLESS you pay into an optional subscription for "SPORTS+ PERFORMANCE PACKAGE"!!! The idea is the same..... I hope Lexus does not go that far trying to boost it's revenues.....

Most likely, the shortcut was removed from your home page, but the app was not uninstalled. Goto your full app list and you should find the updated version. Sometimes apps do this when they update.

How do you like Spotify compared to Pandora? I assume its all Free and they run the same way? I pay the $4.99 for No Ads on Pandora so its all Stations I created.
Do you simply Bluetooth the Spotify from your phone as well? What benefit does it have to use the one located in the "App Suite" - that I have yet to ever lay my eyes on!

Can you friggin imagine then trying to pull a stunt like that on Lexus Owners? Restrict the Sport & Sport + Features over a "Subscription?" LMFAO!! Think I'd be looking at another brand if so.

Hell, they couldn't even get Apple Play or Android Auto in these cars. How in the world does a 2015-2017 Owner recoup this shortfall? Updates? Nooooo

Pandora (free version) USED to be NO ADS if you use the Lexus EnForm app on the NAVI. But a couple of days ago Pandora is no longer available on Enform. So now if you BT Pandora via your smart phone......the free Pandora WILL have ADS. The PAID Pandora, of course, is free of ADS.

The free Spotify is working ok for me and Waze is tied into Spotify. So far the free Spotify I'm using is FREE OF ADS. But the selection of music is not what I would like. I guess it needs time to "learn" my preferences. I also use iHeart Radio via Enform. But currently my entire Enform app had disappeared from my phone. Have not had time to reinstall yet. So we stream via BT on my phone.

Lexus is behind the curve on these tech features!!!!

You are correct!

After I found the original icon, I clicked it and the NAVI screen went to UPDATE. Then the updated EnForm came on the NAVI screen WITHOUT Pandora icon.

All ok..... without Pandora on the Enform on the NAVI screen. Just have to use BT....... I recently started using the free Spotify account.......via BT also.

I think Iheart radio and Slacker are still on the Enform NAVI SCREEN.

I was originally ticked off to hear Lexus was dropping Pandora as it was the only streaming service I had used for quite a while...I really didn't know anything about Slacker but have given them a fair try in the past few days and I am impressed! I was able to find equivalents to all of my Pandora favorites as well as a couple of new artists...and the sound quality is much better...so no complaints from me...
