Hey guys & gals! Been lurking here for around a year....figured id introduce myself as a new member. Came over to the lexus side from an 09' Infintit G37S 6-speed, to a 2016 RCF......swore to myself I wasn't going to mod anything on it, as I did to my G37, but the fun has began.
Just installed a ARK cutback on her, and next a CAI for a bit more breathing room. lol
Welcome and congrats. I am also a rather new owner. Got my RCF back in November and had it hibernating from Dec to Feb. You should post some pictures of it.
Exhaust is a great mod for the RCF gaining between 18 - 30 whp because the exhaust is too restrictive. Be careful with CAI since stock already there is a Lexus developed CAI, which is very well optimized. In some cases, you end up losing power with aftermarket CAI.
Yeah, I've heard about the CAI, but in research, is it not true that there is a restriction within our stock CAI? Been looking into the Takeda full intake or a LEMS intake tube, leaning more towards the Takeda due to its a full intake vs just a non-restrictive titanium intake tube.
I have always installed a CAI in every vehicle I own. However, based on my extensive reading (And of course Rolla posting same advice on many threads) I have come to the same conclusion. I've decided to do a "little" mod work up there under the hood with a different tube, but only change out the Air Filter with a Dry performance one. The days of Oiled Filters are gone baby gone!
There are numerous threads within these halls on CAI and the Pro & Cons. Most of us do them for the cool looks, in which case the this one will most likely be the one I go with (After Armitryx)
For a CAI I went with a HPS blue tube and an AFE dry filter. I went with the blue because it looks nice. Almost exactly like Gunny's set up he linked to.

Gunny didn't get one YET- and these look pretty good.
Trouble is, they don't specify on their site of they fit 2017 RCF or not? Post a pic of yours buddy?

As I said, Heavy Hitters - in a good way of course!
Im sure they all do the same thing, always been curious which works "Best" if you will? I'd have to guess 90% is for the "Bling Factor" which I openly admit. Wonder if there is any Data which suggest one does anything over another?
Thanks for all the info guys! Gunny.....Which part of NoVA are you in? I was up there for around 4 years in the Ashburn/Broadlands area by Dulles and worked in Arlington.
