There actually is science behind it. Octane chains get broken down the longer you store it, and with the gas in US and Canada containing up to 10% Ethanol, gas also absorbs moisture over time. Both of these can cause the car's computer to retard timing according to combustion conditions and this affects power.

Maybe not as noticeable for people who fill up every few days, but some of us only fill up once every 3-4 weeks.

I've also noticed this "new gas" effect, interesting feedback on the "science" behind it.

Maybe just lucky but still enjoying the Apexi after I think 3 yrs. No probs (except disapproving looks from Lexus service people).
