Really? Or is it just the way you leave the gas station to impress other customers? I don't see the logic of why this would be true.
There actually is science behind it. Octane chains get broken down the longer you store it, and with the gas in US and Canada containing up to 10% Ethanol, gas also absorbs moisture over time. Both of these can cause the car's computer to retard timing according to combustion conditions and this affects power.
Maybe not as noticeable for people who fill up every few days, but some of us only fill up once every 3-4 weeks.
