Default Driving in Sport+ & Track TVD setting regularly

These days I've been alternating between the 981S and the RC F and found myself missing the tighter, heavier steering feel and the instantaneous throttle response. The solution for me has been to toggle Sport+ mode, and adjust TVD to Track setting every time I turn on the RC. Anyone else do the same?

Yeah, that is pretty much what I do. Sport+ with TVD in track mode and manual. Though, the throttle response can be brutal in sport+ with the instantaneous shove and hard engine break on lift off. My other car has a 8 lbs very light flywheel with cable driving throttle and even that has nowhere near the response that my RCF has. I love snappy feel, but my wife complains about it as her head a few times hit the head rest LOL

Even if I am crawling in traffic, I keep it in manual mode (coming from 14 years of daily 6 speed manual driving). Only when I am cruising on the highway, I switch it to ECO mode.

I have a preference of Tvd as Track, SportPlus mode all the time unless Im on the highway cruising with Sport for the lower RPMs and higher gears. But if I need to play for a bit on the highway I go back to Sport+

I did when I first got the GS F. I found I had to re-position my foot much higher on the pedal to get a smooth throttle response. Toyotas have been hinged at the top forever, and now with the hinge at the bottom, my normal low foot position doesn't work well at all. So I just leave it in normal mode most of the time. Shifting is also considerably more notchy in Sport or Sport+, and as Rolla said, the wife isn't so fond of it. Especially now at 34 weeks pregnant.

Agreed with all of you on that Sport+ can be too harsh of a shift at times, but in my opinion, 6 gears is perfect for this car, as with 8 gears, the constant hunting and confusion on which gear to stay on within certain drive styles is a big gripe. Same thing with the 1800 RPM acceleration hesitation - awful!

I agree, the RCF really should be a 6 Speed instead of 8. Idk how the LC operates with the 10 speed but I can’t imagine it’s better than the 8. Not to mention that i have enuf trouble when using the paddle shifters in any other mode other than Sport + (you can’t skip gears). Even in Sport + the car immediately jumps out of first and second gears in auto mode, so I tend to drive in Sport + in Manual Mode around town with the Accel Controller in Green. Any more sensitive and it gets jerky if I’m on a bumpy road. On the highway, its Sport + in Auto (gas mileage sucks) but at least it drops the hammer when I want it to. I’m still holding out for someone to come out with a transmission programmer.
