Whenever I back out of the driveway or make a u-turn the car seems the front wheels seems to be making this thumping noise and you can really feel it too. I did some research and found that some other cars do this too. Like this http://www.autonews.com/article/2013...-the-wrong-way for example. Anyone else have it?
I get the same thing, only when parking and it seems to be only full turn in reverse, almost feel like it slips a little but it's no biggie to me as long as it does not do it going forward. Also seems after it's been parked but that's most of the time I am backing out so could just be a coincidence.
it's the tires, I've noticed it more on slick surfaces than stickier (cement vs. asphalt for example).
It seems to me the tires are skidding sideways slightly, and I suspect it has to do with the staggered width of the tires and the suspension geometry.
I experienced this same phenomenon on my Camaro SS which had 275/45/R20 rears and 245/40/R20 fronts and my 300CSRT that had the same staggered setup as the Camaro.
When I changed the 300CSRT fronts to match the rears (275/45/R20) the phenomenon went away.
This leads me to believe that the staggered setup may be the cause of this, it only happens at lock to lock turns in reverse.

Ditto!!
For me it happens every time when i Reverse and turn the wheels left..
