Someone backed into my car today - FML
. As you probably know, no paint job is anywhere as good as factory, so glad it was your rear bumper. The same thing happened to my brand new SC430 but in the front, and the paint started chipping like crazy with the crap prevalent in the desert southwest. Anyway, I was of the idea of replacing everything when possible, and repainting entire panels, but that's not the best way to go many times. In your case, I'd go with a blend job with somebody that knows what they're doing. The worst part about that kind of thing is having to leave the car in a freaking body shop. I found one where I park the car inside a paint chamber, and take the keys; nobody messes with the car. I'd have never stopped by that place, but was recommended by a doc friend of the family with a large car collection, and I saw his work first hand on my brother's Ferrari, with a very hard to match three-stage blue paint job (blue possi), and it came out absolutely perfect. And much cheaper than larger (and supposedly better) shops. I helped him hang his bicycles, had a roof leak, and one fell on his car (oops). Hit the rear/roof panel right under the fixed side window, right behind the car. Never had good luck with the supposedly better bodyshop options. Ask for references from car guys with expensive cars. Good luck man.
Hey, it's not too late to turn into a detective

They've painted this color quite a few times and they are an approved shop from my insurance company so if the workmanship fails in a few years or I'm unhappy with it, it's guaranteed for as long as I own my car and they will fix it for free.
Living in NY you realize situations as yours, seem to happen all too often. With that being said, none of my cars ever have so much as to a scratch on them. If they happen, I fix them. I understand that it's the principle of the matter, but it's not that serious! All that extra was so unnecessary, after all you drive a Lexus, not a Bentley!
if u live in southern ca i have a usb rcf also i work at a dealership they painted my fender and bumper......got into a lil fender bender and it came out perfect pm me if your local...... just happened recently getting my car back today they may still have paint and pearl left over
I had a USB as well and had dmg @ 400 miles and had it fixed w/o any issue, the front bumper got cracked. They said it was easy to match up just a 2 or 3 step pant job but they work on a lot of high end cars, someone took a new Ferrari and had the whole car repainted a new color when I was at the shop, wonder what that costs lol

I have an appt tomorrow with Lexus to get the estimate. Curious how much this little damage will be.

Will do, thanks.
However they left a note. I haven't called the number but did call my insurance company for them to act on it. I hope they didn't give a fake phone number, I'll try calling them in the morning.

How stupid can one person be, I mean seriously? I had someone back into my car Saturday night when Danielle and I went out to eat. I came out to my car to find a note under the windshield with a message stating:
"Backed slightly into your car, light scrapes mostly rubs off. SORRY!"..... the person also provided their name and phone number.

I agree 100%, it's the principle. Regardless of make, age, the condition it's in, it doesn't give someone else the right to damage it. Most people today don't have any respect for anyone else's property and it is getting worse and worse in today's "ME, ME" society..

I feel your pain bro... I had the same thing happen to me. Some DUMB *** backed in to my ES350 and SOB didn't even bother to leave their contact information. Some people are just plain evil. I was mad at hell, and cursed them several times hoping that KARMA would bite them in the ***. I'm over it now

Thanks, it's headed to the shop on Monday.
