Is anyone else experiencing that the fans in the seat back seem to be very noisy? Maybe it is just that I can hear the fan all the time with the cooled seats on because I am short.
Do not get me wrong, I still would not get rid of this car over it. I love this thing...
There's actually a thread in the regular RC forum about how the back of the seat actually heats up while the seat fans are on. I've experienced it numerous times. I didn't have this problem with my IS.
They do suck and they do make noise, I told the service person who then put a plastic bag and it filled with air. They still do nothing.
I could totally see you Rryan snatching that bag out and putting it over the service guys head LOL. Our GX seat fans are so much stronger than the RCF. Agree with all the above, the seat ventilation system is awful.
I don't think my seat fans push enough air to make any noise
Definitely not defective. They're just crap man, based on all others' comments. But even worse is the noise they make for the paltry air they move indeed. Very unLexus like. I was also surprised they remember your previous setting. THAT is what threw me off the first time I started the car, asking myself WTF is that freaking noise? Ha ha.
I don't think my seat fans push enough air to make any noise lol, they're useless compared to my last car.
Maybe mine are defective
I have some airflow and some noise. I do turn my seat fans off to make phone calls. I do use the feature on the max setting and they give some relief but in Arizona they are not blowing enough and not in the right places. I feel the most air comes out in the front of the seat bottom as shown in the attached pdf (just above knees) and upper mid back (seat back center line) by less that 25% of what comes out around the knees. I feel 0 in low back and and sides of low back where you need it. Fan noise is highest up at the top of the seat back. My crude paper air flow detectors dont show much air coming out of the seat back and only show some air coming out in the upper center.
I tried turning up the AC and selecting output for the feet hoping to get
cool air under the seat and up into it but this failed to do much.
But I really like the seat design, it looks great and holds you in place perfectly on aggressive driving in turns.
Awesome demonstration! Well done. Twice a month a do a 7 hour drive and my lower back wishes the ventilation blew like the GX. I agree with loving the seat design as well. To be honest, they were one of the main reasons I chose it. I also remember the seat warmers kinda sucked as well.
well if they were quiet then you would complain the do not work well enough
Hey, don't give me that fanboy crap man. On a freaking $80K car, they should be quiet AND work well. It does neither. If you're the conformist type, then shut up and suffer. But people like us are the reason manufacturers improve their products. It's called constructive criticism... something fanboys just don't get.
Hey Rjmalm, that was an awesome test . At least this car blows air, even if little. Porsches are even worse, because they SUCK air, rather than blow it. No idea why. And yes, these are the best overall seats I've ever sat on, and I've had the pleasure to seat in a lot of expensive cars. Therefore, happy to put up with that inconvenience.
