Driver's seat fan
hello everyone this is my first day on this site. I have a 2001 ls430 and the driver's seat fan makes alot of noise and vibrates very badly how do i fix it. My car has the heated & cooled seats and the fan that pumps cool air in the summer. I guess that's what the fan is for? I hate it because in the winter I can't cut heated seat on because fan makes too much noise. please help I need my heated seat also not to mention I need new seat covers has anyone tried the Lseat.com they claim the have lexus seat covers.
Welcome to the site and sorry to hear your seat fan is noisy. Much more knowledgeable people than I can comment but I would start with two items. 1) Use a shop vacuum on the leather seat to clean any debris which may have found its way into the perforations in the leather. 2) Raise your seat(s) fully up, fully back and reclined so you have maximum room to see the seat filter. Inspect it for dirt & dust. You may be able to vacuum the filter or a forum member can tell you how to remove the filter. 3) If the filter is removed I wonder if dirt on the fan itself has caused an imbalance therefore creating noise.
Heres a picture of the drivers side front filter ( that rectangular piece).
You must have the Ultra if you have ventilated seats for 2001.
I have owned 4 Lexus vehicles with ventilated seats. I have griped that they are all loud. So was my Toyota Highlander. I also find that Toyota /Lexus ventilated seats barely ventilate. Does anybody feel relief in the summer with Lexus / Toyota ventilated seats?

My ML with these seats (I'm guessing mine had a few more options boxes ticked in Singapore) does the same thing. I'm going to hazard a guess and say a blade has come off because it feels like something is out of balance with that much vibration going on
When I am not sweaty, I can only feel it if I am wearing shorts, which is most of the time.
I will say that I don't think I can hear them at all. That said, I have never turned it off, so I will definitely try that when I commute home today to see if I have been hearing it all along and just not recognizing it.
Well I was way off. I turned off the AC except for the seat fan, and it is actually pretty loud. Fortunately it blends in with the rest of the AC noise.
