Where Do You Carry In Your RCF?
Center console is way too small and too shallow. Curious where those that do carry keep your handgun? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger () on one of these and mount it under the dash or on the inside of the center console down around my right leg. I usually carry my FN 5.7 which is extremely light or my Kimber Ultra Carry. Anyone have experience with these magnets in a vehicle?

I wouldn't recommend a magnet just due to the practicality of if. What I do is pretty simple and might work for you depending on what pistols you carry and why you carry them.
What your going to want to do is take your "safe" holstered pistol and wedge it between your seat and your center console. Find a position that is aggressive enough for you to easily draw, but not so much as to hinder/bother your driving experience. Once you've found the position that your happy with, mark it with some blue making tape and then remove both the holster and the front seat. With the position marked and the driver seat removed, directly bolt the holster to the center console and then reinstall the seat.
Now you've got a very stable, aggressive, and secure position to holster your pistol while driving. My main carry is a USP so my holster fits anything from my HK45 to VP9. My STI 1911s fit well with a little adjustment, but carrying single action only race guns isn't exactly practical.

Useless without pictures I know, but mine is in the shop. I will post a pic tomorrow.
I bought a sturdy hard plastic paddle holster. I then shoved it under the steering column like the trim piece is the waistband. It sits perfect in there...high up, behind the steering wheel. Be aware you are reaching for it palm up- not top of fingers inward. AND due to it's accessibility it's very visible.
Like when you pull into the service dept and they immediately open your door.
I keep a soft inside the pant holster in the door for when I leave the car.
I use this technique in all my cars.

Hey, which USP do you carry? I have the HK USP 40 Compact. Seldom carry (CCP for 15 years now), but maybe I should more often. Better in the car if needed, than in the safe. Ha ha. Wondering which holster did you buy, and exact location. A pic would be great . Thx.

Db, I like that set up. I think I can put some alcantara under the steering column to prevent the holster from scratching the plastic and be g2g. Thanks for the pics buddy! As for carrying it in the glove box, I prefer to keep more accessible like in the pics or down along my leg ( if I went with the magnet mount).
