Default Center console lid

Hi all.

I have 2 RX450H's (his and hers).

The center console lid on my wife's works just as intended, i.e., you slide it back and then lift it up to access the center console compartment and the lid stays where you put it. However, in mine, the lid falls back down. It feels to me that it's lacking tension, but not that anything is actually broken. That said, it's a bit frustrating to use because it always wants to fall back down to the closed position. Is there an adjustment or something to tighten to resolve this minor issue?

Thanks!

Have you inspected the hinge assembly? There may be screws that you can tighten.

I've always felt that the center console lid should go all way up and stay there. Ours flops down. Yes, it's annoying.

My 50 pound Australian Shepherd has obliterated my center console. It will not close nor completely open, it's stuck with a 3-inch gap, just wide enough for my hand. We have a seat belt for her in the backseat but she still can reach between the seats which is her preference. Spoiled dog.
