I just 'modded' mine last night, it definately sounds more like American v8 constantly. I think it loses a little torque down low and the 'extra kick' of power at 3.5k rpm is muted/blended in with rest of the power band.
Don't know if I like it yet, will try it out for a week and switch back to stock and see what I enjoy more

this is exactly how I feel. It's a great replacement for 95 Prelude VTEC. The switchover was amazing.

so I did this Friday.. over 2 days and 230 miles I have experienced a slight drop in MPG, according to the AVG MPG on the NAV I went from 19.3mpg down to 18.6mpg.

I'm going to guess the reason it the increased intake sound has resulted in a heavier right foot.

doesn't bother me, I didn't buy the car for the MPG, just pointing it out...

Don't do this. There has been posts on here proving the negatives. Such as heat soak, loss of power/torque, and loss of MPG due to efficiency.

I just ran across this today for the first time.

Seems like heat soak is negligible considering its 100F here in Dallas anyway.

Also, if it already opens up on its own above a certain RPM, heat soak would still be present then anyway. I'll have to do some further reading before doing this on mine.

I used to have it when I bought the car (previous owner had done it). Yes, there is a noticeable torque loss. There is more growl, but definitely once the dealership put it back on, I never removed the line again. If you want more noise at low rpms, go with a full exhaust. Having a full exhaust fixed the lack of noise issue below 4000 rpm.

I think part of the draw for folks is better noise without forking over 2k+.

Not saying it's a good mod to do, just saying I see why people do it. I wish I could make my car a little louder, for sure.
