Default Active Wing Stuck ( 2015 RC-F)

Hello everyone,

I recently had an issue with my rear wing as well, but it got stuck in the down position while on the screen it shows that the wing is up in its high / active position and the active wing control button stays lit as well.
I have tried pressing the button but nothing happens. When I hold the button, the light becomes dimmer ( does not turn off completely ) and I see the wing retracting in the screen animation but it goes back up immediately and it stays green while physically the wing stays put in the low position without even moving although I do hear sounds from the motors.
Has anyone experienced similar issues with their RC-F ?
Thank you for any useful information and for your time .

There is a TSB for this. Free fix. I had mine done about a month after I got my RCF.

Go to a Lexus dealership QUICK before the warranty runs out!!!

Were you able to get your wing fixed by the dealer?

My 2016 just got the same issue that you got, says wing is up and is lit green but it is actually down. When I press the button I can hear the motors moving but on the screen i can see it try to go down but come back up (wing never moved from down position)

It's a free fix at Lexus dealerships under warranty.

I'm trying to get Lexus to fix it, as I'm out of warranty but when it was in they went ahead and said they would fix it. I don't see them referencing any TSB, so not sure what "fix" they did. It stopped working after about a month after Lexus looked at it. I might be forced to just leave it up all the time, which I do like. But it's cool to have it go up and down, I've always liked that feature.

Just curious. After you guys got the fix, has it been holding up? I've seen a couple comments about the motor, and others about a reset.

Cheers,

Going on 2 days now to get a call back from my advisor, as the fix was to turn my spoiler options back on. I had manually set it to stay up, and they think that was the problem. What a joke! They should know damn well this is an issue, and be proactive about the fix. Now I'll have to pay out of pocket for this fix, which I know won't be cheap.

I'm hella busy in my profession, but I always make time to call back clients. Really? You talk to a customer for a few minutes ..."oh you need an oil change? oh you need that service?" and you turn in the paperwork have the customer sign in and next customer. It's not that hard of a job. I'm seriously pissed. This is the 3rd time with this damn dealership regarding crappy communication. Because a call or text is so damn difficult to send out.

Mine is working fine after the fix some 4+ years ago. No problems.

I just bought mine with 60k miles. Looks like my VIN is affected but I’m out of warranty. The previous owner hasn’t performed the tsb. Wing still works but seems like a matter of time before it doesn’t. I’ll just leave it down for now until I can find more economical ways to fix. Dealers are quoting me between $1,400 to $3,000 to fix out of pocket

I don't believe TSBs are affected by warranty. You should still take it back to the dealership. They will perform the ECU update for you for free.

It says good for only 48 months or 50,000 miles. I’m wondering if it’s just cheaper to have them reset it every 500 times like an earlier poster said

TSBs are NOT recalls, I repeat, TSBs are NOT recalls. They're simply a way to help technicians troubleshoot problems much quicker. Basically the official version of "oh yeah, I've seen that problem before and here's how to fix it."

If you're still under warranty, then the fix is covered. If you're out of warranty, then you'll have to pay, just like any other service out of warranty. If you have a good relationship with dealer, they may do a good will fix, but if you're the kind of person that only shows up for recalls, they probably won't be too inclined to give you free services.
