Dealers are quoting me between $1,400 to $3,000 to fix out of pocket
Is yours actually broken though? Mine is technically in that window and when I did a full scan I can see I still have the old wing ecu part number, but my wing still works fine. Worry about it if it actually stops working, not because a service bulletin exists. They're just trouble shooting aides, not every vehicle is affected.

I used the Carista app to do a full scan on my car. Good for gee whizz info, like ECU calibration part numbers.

My wing is working. I just get paranoid and have a bad habit of tabulating numbers and contingencies...I work in cost estimating...lol.

I'll keep an eye on it and just save up for the inevitable (?).

I have had mine for 4 years. Never needed any work on the spoiler. It works perfectly every time.

To be fair though Rolla, your RCF is a low mileage weekend car.

I wonder how many everyday commuting RCFs that have had their spoilers go up and down continuously are still okay with the original programming.

It doesn’t seem to be that big of an issue as I only see a handful of RCF owners here that have it...but big enough that Lexus put out a TSB....🤔

Just do what I do and turn it off until you can save up for the repair if it happens. If it doesn’t happen then you have money for mods. 🤣

In all seriousness if you pick one up with relatively high mileage (like 50k miles) and the wing still works you should be okay....right?

Yes.

Or you can save a few bucks by purchasing and installing the controller ECU yourself. Might need to aquire a copy of Techstream to do the initialization, or there might be a Techstream-free proceedure available. Can get the manual after paying $20 for a 48 hour pass to TIS.
