As I was driving home today, in the rain, my a/c stopped working. When I pressed the climate button on the navi to display the climate settings, the a/c button was flashing. A message appeared on the navi screen and I think it said “a/c malfunction,” but am not 100% sure because I pressed another button and the message disappeared.
I stopped and turned off the car for approximately 10 minutes, it was still flashing when I started it again. When I arrived at my second destination and turned off the car, again, for approximately 10 minutes, it was flashing. When I stopped a third time, at a gas station and restarted my car it stopped flashing and it seems to be working now.
I hate showing up to the dealer with a problem only to not be able to duplicate the problem in front of them. I’m planning on driving out of town tomorrow (late morning) for an extended weekend on a small road trip, approximately 750 miles, and would hate to be without a/c for the entire trip. Has anyone had this happen before? How serious of a problem is this? Could the rain have gotten something wet and caused the problem? Again, it seems to be working now, should I still take it to the dealer?
