Default Super charger and engine problems.

Any experience with engine damage from super charger? I heard a few people say they had ringland seat issues after a while using boost. Is that really boost related? Seems more like bad tune with timing that led to detonation. Thoughts?

Could be boost related. In boosted applications, there's higher cylinder pressure and heat which could cause the ring ends to butt up against each other leaving no room to expand causing breakage and subsequent ring land failure. The 2UR-GSE static compression ratio is 12.3, add 6psi of boost the effective compression ratio increases to ~17.5, that's a lot of pressure and heat. Boosting OEM engines can be safe, just don't get too greedy with the psi, unless you're going to rebuild for boosted application.
