Enform still available?
Hey all. I have a 2015 RC350 bought brand new. After a couple years, I stopped subscribing to the enform service, but just recently was intersted in subscribing again for the remote start and other features. When I tried I got a message stating 3g services discontinued in U.S. October 31, 2022. Subscriptions to lexus enform services no longer available. So what's the solution to this? Is remote start no longer a possibility?

Lexus screwed older cars and provides no retrofit option, unlike many other brands that provided upgrades to 4G. You can still do an aftermarket remote start.

Yeah that's been gone a few years now. If enform was active when the sunset happened then your remote start still works. Otherwise you need to add an aftermarket device. 12Volt Solutions has been a popular option for years.
I did the 12v solution on my RCF and wife's NX. Plug and play but expensive.
You can make your own using the same stuff and it's quite easy. For my CT I bought Directed DB3 module ($100), get a lexus T-harness $15, and connect 3-4 wires and you will have the SAME kit that all these other places are charging $300+ for. Super easy to install and not a crazy mark up.
Had I known about this prior to my CT I would have done the same for my RCF and wife's NX saving me easily $400 or so.

You can use your key fob to remote start the RCF by pressing the lock button quickly 3 times and hold it down on the third time until the lights flash and then it will start. You have to hold it for at least 5 seconds. The remote won't work over very long distances but I've been doing it this way since I lost the Enform service.
The three press fob Remote Start is (was) dependent on the Enform service which, as noted, was "sunset" when the telecommunication carriers dropped the 3G towers.
A dealer or Port installed "RES" Remote Engine Start was a add on module for 2010 to 2017 Lexi that enabled the fob button cadence. Since the fob range was the
weakest part of RES it would be preferred to spend the money on a Viper or other longer-range Remote Start system. Note: some folks don't like the additional small fob.

It's wack for sure. I'm installing a remote start module in my SIL's Volvo XC60. She was paying $250 a year for remote start and she was tired of paying that, which I don't blame her. The whole subscription crap for stuff like this already built into the car is money grabbing and the fact we just carry on with it just tells manufactures to keep doing it. Shame really.

Otherwise, one is simply paying for the convivence of someone else making a t-harness making it truly plug and play. I don't see the value in it knowing I can save $150-200 doing it myself with the same exact components.
