Thanks for posting this. I have never been so I was curious to know what it entails. Video below is the experience of a BMW fellow turned Lexus believer. Entertaining video.
@RCF93til I had alot of fun (and learned a bunch)! They provide catered breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the all day event. You will go through different presentations and guidance on the auto cross (which I did in an IS500), on the track (in an LC500) and properly doing donuts in an RCF. Got to meet a great number of people including Scott Pruett, who showed us how to properly tackle the autocross . Wanted to try an F1 type track, hence the COTA sign up. Recorded some sessions here:

Awesome, great tidbits of info I’ll watch the video.
I myself being an RC F owner would actually prefer to do the track session in the RC F, rather than the LC500. More so, wouldn’t the RC F TE be the ideal car for the track session? Sounds like a fun time nonetheless.
im a fan and did both the base class and masterclass at laguna seca in CA. here's a review from the base class. i never got around to writing a review for masterclass but if you're newer to the track i think these are great programs that let you beat on 2UR-GSE's that aren't yours. lol. for the masterclass we each had fuji's and 1on1 lead follow versus base class where it was lead follow with 4-5 other cars rotating behind the instructor. have fun! i'm gonna try one of the ones offered by porsche next to beat up on some 911's. the instructors are all reputable and most are former race champions in some division.

if you do the base class you'll meet the prerequisite for the masterclass. the masterclass has a fleet of te's/fuji's and drivers get their own vs the base class where you have to share a car. plenty more track time and individual coaching too compared to the base class.

since you took the base class already they didn't offer you masterclass at COTA? they are usually on the same day at least at laguna. or maybe masterclass filled up and they didn't have spots. if you've done base class already, highly recommend the next level of masterclass. either way should be a lot of fun. enjoy.

Had the option but based on my comfort level and drive (no pun intended) towards a track focused session (and not to mention the additional cost!), I'm ok with the Performance class. COTA will be a new track for me so that's another thing

Great stuff Cali sensai Thanks for posting your old review of the event, extremely thorough.
Well looks like Lexus has suckered me
right in to first doing the base class to get to the masterclass with the fleet of TEs LOL. Never been to a track myself for any event and don’t have any plans to track my own RC F. So this all definitely feels like the experience of a lifetime at least for someone like myself.
I wish I can take credit but that wasn't me . Per the instructor, I have to be more aggressive with the throttle . I tried to record my session but my GoPro was being temperamental lol.
Can anyone confirm if for the masterclass you get to do the hot laps in the TE as you being the driver? Although having Scott Pruett driving is a neat track experience, if I’m forking over $2K for the masterclass I would want to be the driver rather than the passenger. Just my 2 cents.
I know Rolla has commented on this topic numerous times. The RC F has track capable hardware, the LC500 does not. Which brings me back to my point on why Lexus would source LC500s for the base driving class for the track sessions. I get that it would be difficult for Lexus to source a bunch of TEs, but not so difficult to source a bunch of RC Fs. Perplexing, Lexus.
I’ll post a comment here from the YouTube user on the hot lap video above. He was asked how driving the LC500 on a hot lap compared to the RC F on the track.
@goraceacar:
”The motor is about the same. Smooth, strong, sounds great. The car is noticeably heavier, less mechanical grip, much softer suspension, and the 10 gear slushbox is definitely less suitable for the track. They tend to overheat, since they're working all those gears pretty hard out there. Having said that, it's a beautiful, comfortable cruiser with a lot of power, great soundtrack, and gorgeous interior. Excellent, excellent street car, probably one of the best.”
for the masterclass, unless they changed it since ~1.5yrs ago, each driver will get a dedicated te/fuji. hot laps are lead follow and yes, you will have an opportunity to follow an instructor in a dedicated te/fuji. they will take turns taking a person out so it's 1:1 lead follow. for hot laps with the lexus ambassador, townsend bell (masterclass), was able to take anyone that wanted to go and ride shotgun with him because the class is much smaller and intimate.
