Although they stopped in 2018 I'm looking at an ATS-V in 6 speed with the Carbon package. Has 50k less miles than my car according to KBB the reliability for that specific model is actually higher than the RC by a couple points. Plenty of power, very nice steering, 4 doors and although I lose the peace of mind in reliability there's some fun to be had. Might be different after seeing it and driving but an extra 150hp with a manual and RWD platform is making me think its not a bad choice.
I didn't own an ATS-V, best friend had a 16 model. Transmission issues, constantly, window motors, 3 in 2 years, AC glitches always.
Me, SRX, CTS and one ATS. All were problem children. Worse than BMW's in the reliability issue. Maintenance cost through the roof.
I'll keep going with Lexus until someone or something changes my mind. I've had 4 of those and there's 3 in my family right now.
For me, at this stage with me, I'd just go with an IS F-sport loaded to to the eyebrows. I know everybody wants the SUV
cars these days instead of sedans, but I haven't found one I like. They all look like they're cut out of the same mold except
some that are uglier than a bowling shoe. But that's for another thread. For now, I'm keeping my RC.
My wife has an '20 RX350. Great SUV but in my opinion 100% soulless, couldnt imagine one as my only vehicle.
I would agree. RX and the NX, we have both in our family. They are reliable and quality vehicles but have about as much personalty as a landscaping
timber. Don't get me wrong, they are great, they ride well, have good power, quiet, decent millage, comfortable for any trip length. They just are boring for
everyday running. To replace my RC, it would have to be an IS. I know there are a ****load of them out there but you could get some aftermarket wheels,
tint the windows, get a black one, and you are good to go.
As a good option. You may want to go drive the Kia Optima K5, Stinger, or G70. Way back when Honda and Toyota were a piece of crap. Things change. The G80 is not Winning in that class and getting such high owner ratings for nothing. Its also not like Lexus's don't have any problems.
