Default Windshield Wiper Replacement

I needed new wipers for me 2018 rc and went to the store. They had a lot of options and I chose the high end rain X wipers. They came out, installed them, and I went on my way. Well I got to the main road and tried the wipers but they were different. I went back to the store and was surprised to see that the new wipers were shorter than the original ones. They are the same size but where you clip them on is off about 1/2" so it shifts the path lower than it should be and causes a gap in the middle on the windshield. We tried the bosch brand as well and they did the same thing. I left with my original wipers.

So I cam home and did research but couldnt find anything stating the same issue. So whats going on? It seems that aftermarket wipers are not the right size. I will go to the dealership but I wanted to see if anyone had any input.

I've always replaced the rubber inserts only on my Lexuses. I buy them from the dealer. It's easy to replace rather than dealing with the aftermarket wipers that I can never figure out how to attach the arms with this and that adapter.

I only replace the rubber inserts too. Takes about 10 seconds each side.

I replaced mine with the RainX brand last week. Not an issue with adapters, there are none. Un-clipped the latch,
slid the new the new one right in, popped the latch back down, done. Took me longer to type this response.
As far as a gap, don't see it. Drove in the rain 3 days last week, no problems here.

that’s really strange. I had a gap in my lower windshield where the driver side wiper and passenger wouldn’t overlap. We tried 3 sets and the all did it.

I replaced the wipers twice since buying the car new and I don't recall seeing any unwiped gaps. I did notice that the first set of wipers I got (forgot the brand) was not nearly as smooth as the OEM wipers. After they wore out, I replaced them with PIAA silicone wipers and they are much closer to OEM quality. Hope this helps.
