Default Trac control & check engine light after install help!!

Hoping someone can help me ease my mind a bit on this.

Excited to finally pick up my 2015 RC 350 F Sport AWD from a local shop today that installed a new CAI (Takeda Pro Dry), Exhaust (Invidia Titanium Quad Rolled Tip Axle Back), and painted calipers red. I also had the rims powder coated. Looks and drives what i believe is great (not used to it yet perhaps?)

However, the Trac Control off and check engine light came on. I didn't have this issue prior to dropping off the vehicle and the shop claims the lights came in like that. I know that the car did not have those lights come on at all before the installations. So before i get angry at them, i'm wondering what would anyone else do before going back to them? Is this normal with all the new parts? Should i bring it to the dealership and run a diagnostic? I'm hoping a simple coding reset could fix the problem.

The shop i went to specializes more in BMW and Mercedes, not so much Lexus if this helps.

I assume you do you not have an OBD2 code scanner. Just run by an Autozone or similar and get the codes scanned, the dash lights are far to vague to troubleshoot with. I’m assuming it’s related to the intake install because there aren’t any sensors involved with an axleback.

After that, invest in a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner that you can use with your phone. It pays for itself quickly, especially if you’re going to continue modifying your car.

I'll take the car to Autozone for a code scan and get back to you.

Thanks for the help so far!

keep us posted, because I'd like to add an axle back and CAI also, but don't want engine codes!

Hey I had the same problem when I installed my CAI DRY myself. Check under your hood, because of the metal piping of intake one of my hose slipped off of the intake causing the car to run lean. If your car does have the same problem I had, I solved it by simply zip tying the hose back on. Hope that solves your issue

P0174, P0171, P1170 (all repeats twice, not sure if that matters)

Technician recommends using this Seafoam Concentrated Fuel Injection Cleaner first. My car only has 34.9K miles on it so he feels replacing fuel injector(s) shouldn't be the case right now. I'll let the tank run out first and give it a try. I'm wondering if that would solve the trac control though? any thoughts/recommendations?

hey nelBi,

Is this what you're talking about? I just saw this under the hood.

It’s hard to see well with the engine cover in the way, but that looks like the crank case hose is disconnected from your intake tube. That would absolutely cause issues.

I tried to use the metal clamp and a zip tie to keep it on but it won’t stay on. Any other ideas?

I'm no mechanic, but I can't imagine that fuel injectors have anything to do with TCS

Put some Gorilla Duct tape on the pipe, cut to fit so it looks clean. One layer should be enough, but might need a couple of wraps, and then use a hose clamp. That should hold it.

I just installed this same intake. Use a hose clamp (the kind where you need to turn a bolt with a flathead to tighten it.

That hose is what is causing your issue. I have heard of this happening to others who installed the CAI. A stronger clamp should help fix it.

Brought it back to the shop and told them the issue. They sanded the tube down a bit and used a hose clamp. No more check engine light!

Thank you to everyone to helping me out.
