Any advice on blacking out the window chrome and the grille? is there another grille available without breaking the bank?

 

I wrapped mine in gloss black. Seems to be what most do.

 

I watched a bunch of youtube about it. CKWraps is good. Use good wrap, I prefer Avery, it is thin and easy to work with. Get the tools which are not expensive and take your time.

 

Carbon Fiber wrapped the center piece too.



Just got my chrome delete job done yesterday and came out amazing. I'd recommend having a professional shop do it due to the extremely tight fitting on the windows. Found a shop here in Las Vegas that did it for $250 which was a killer deal seeing that almost every other shop I contacted wanted between $400 and $500!

I painted mine. More permanent than wrap. But wrapping is a great and easy option. I had mine wrapped before i decided to take it off and paint it.

 

Fingers crossed hoping the vinyl job last for a good while so won't have to paint it. Think I'm going to have the headlights and tailights tinted tomorrow too.

I plan on wrapping the lower lip on the front bumper in Carbon Fiber, same as yours...would you happen to know if the lip was removed or can it just be wrapped without having to remove anything (bumper, lip, etc)?

Nope, lip doesn't need removing. It was wrapped with the lip still attached. Also in my opinion for the window trims, satin or matte black is the best option seeing how the lower rubber pieces below the window are a flat black and not gloss so the satin or matte black options would flow best.

Yes, I agree, I'd prefer to use Satin black vinyl if I decide to wrap chrome surround the the windows & grill.

 

Vinyl wrap is the way to go on those chrome pieces. Generally speaking, most pieces do not need to be removed to be wrapped and is actually easier/better to wrap it while on the car.

Although frowned upon these days, you can always use plasti-dip and DIY. Most time consuming part would be masking off everything. Did it on my 3IS a few years back and it help up pretty well. Only noticeable damages were on the front bumper after ~10k miles where some chrome was peaking through due to rock chips.
