Glad to help revive this thread. So reading …I’ve experienced the autolock thing too. Maybe it doesn’t have it but today I’m pretty sure I left my car unlocked today and I came back hours later (of stressing what important items were left) and it was locked. It’s a 2015 RFC has everything but thing rear tracking upgrade. TDM? Anyways My car has the freaking “won’t open while unlocked on the driver side issue” and the door will not open. Passenger opens fine. It hasn’t happened in a year or so but I expect it to come back. Dealer cannot find issue. My dealership warranty ends the 21st of this month. *Insert Small violin sound.* I also hate my dealer so it’s time for a change. Got a decent Indy that can fix anything. I had to look at a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe beater today for the 18 year old. Checks mechanically but roof starting to rust on deep hail damage. Think softball. Cheap used cars are hard to come by, but we might have a deal! Yay.

First, - I've tried several times to program the door locks so they auto lock after 30 seconds when I walk away. Tried the 30, 60, 120 second settings, hid the keys away from the car and each time I walked up to the car without the smart key fob, the doors were unlocked - they never locked. (They will lock if I press the lock button). Stumped....any suggestions? PS There is no link to my smart phone.
Second question - Thinking that maybe the smart key fob batts may be low (doubt it since it has a great range for locking and unlocking the doors, trunk, etc.) can someone with the key fob glove please explain how the heck to you get the glove off without cutting the elastic over the top. Try as I might I does not stretch enough to go over either side of the top of the fob. Again, any help is greatly appreciated.
Cadillac has the feature. That’s about the only thing I miss. I just traded my 2017 Cadillac XT five for a 2021 Lexus RX 350. I’m loving the Lexus! I just need to remember to lock my vehicle when I get out of it

I just traded in my old 2009 CTS4 with 266669Kms on it - yes, very worn out, got a whole $500 for it. Lots of stories about keeping a 2009 CTS running well! Anyway, it locked itself when I walked away. Really nice feature. My favourite feature. I never had to even think about whether my car was secure or not. Just walked away. And I expected every high-end car with a fob to the same thing. I just purchased a 2015 Lexus which has now been unlocked for 2 days. It never even occurred to me that I had to actually take some action to lock my car.

So, here I am - checking on google for information about it, and then using this forum to give my 2 cents worth. This car has more computer processors, electronic switches and toggles for every kind of little do-dad you could want. But, it can't lock itself? Now I have to push some button to lock my car. How archaic is that!

"Now I have to push some button to lock my car."
I used to think this key-talk was a nothingburger, but after reading and digesting the above comments, I realize that I can't live like this any longer. I'm done with pushing buttons. Alexa and I are running off to Tahiti. Anybody want to buy an RC that does not lock itself? (Will trade for SPF30.)

Locking and unlocking a car has never been an issue with me. I go all the way back to either pushing down a peg of sorts operating
a lever mechanism or turning a key in the door to lock a car. As far as forgetting to lock my car when walking away from it, well if
you can't touch a dimple in the handle or pressing a button, you should just not drive a car of any kind. If this is such a big hangup
with you, I would think you are either just a lazy person or not smart enough to be owning a Lexus in the first place. Some people
just have to hunt for issues just to think someone cares what they think.

Default My 2009 Honda Civic lx had auto lock

Was looking to see if there was a setting for this on my 2022 Lexus is350 but apparently not. That’s ok though I actually was kind of annoyed when my civic auto locked on me when I didn’t want it to. There are times though that I do appreciate this feature… oh well … I have my key fob .. door handle and Lexus app that I use to lock my doors.
