I purchased a new IS300 two months ago. At least once a week the lane departure assist will shut off. The dashboard light will appear showing the lane departure assist has shut off and, in fact, the warning light arrows will not appear in the side view mirrors when a car is approaching in the adjacent lane. The lane departure assist randomly shuts off while driving and has twice shut off when I start the car. Each time I can reactivate the lane departure assist by simply shutting off the engine and restarting it. The Lexus dealership technicians have never seen this problem before and remain uncertain how to solve the problem. My car is now at the Lexus dealership awaiting a resolution of the problem. I have asked the dealership to contact Lexus Engineering/Technical Support on Tuesday. Has anyone ever experienced such a problem? I can reached at prlevine@sbcglobal.net. Thank you. Peter LeVine

I haven't seen anything like this before, but since this is a brand-new car, you should feel confident that Lexus will take care of it. It could be something as simple as a bad battery or a defective part. Let us know how it goes.
