Default Turning off the VSC system

First of all I'd like to say hello everyone! I'm new to ClubLexus and the 2gs chassis and I appreciate the community here being so helpful in teaching me things even before I registered.

A big reason why I bought my 2gs was watching videos of Japanese drifters using it (Max Orido being a primary inspiration) where I live it snows, so I was excited to get some practice in slippery conditions. I used the button on the center console to turn TCS off and went for it, but whenever I got any angle the car would beep, flashing an image of a swerving car on the dash and cut engine power. Further research led me to learn the VSC system doesn't turn off even if you turn TCS off. I know on the 3gs and 2is the "Pedal Dance" works to turn VSC off, I have no confirmation that works on the 2gs though. Does anyone know of a way to turn off VSC?

My 1999 Toyota aristo, has the 2jz-ge

Interesting question. In US and Canadian-spec models, there is a button to turn VSC off, and it does allow you to slide the car without triggering the stability systems. Maybe just see if someone will buy your Aristo and you can get a GS300; last I checked, Aristos were worth more for some reason.
Otherwise I'm interested in the answer as well.

Speaking from experience, there are ways to cripple the VSC system, but because it interacts with the ABS, I don't think it's a good idea to do that to a street car.

Thanks for the response! I'd rather not sell the car for sentimental value (it's been my dream to own a RHD car for years now) I've been looking into it and your right, the jdm gs300 doesn't have toggle-able TRC. There is a way to wire a switch into the system to toggle it on an off though, I'm going to try that and I'll let yall know if it works!
