I only turn VSC off and Power ECT on when I need to accelerate quickly. Like making a right hand turn onto a busy street or merging into fast traffic. That's about the time I get 10-15 mpg!
I leave it on unless I feel like taking a more aggressive corner. It will have no effect on acceleration unless you get wheel spin and in this case it helps since it will modulate the throttle faster than a human can.
On a straight line it doesn't make any difference...only retards wheel spin which actually helps acceleration.
On cornering the computer checks for steering wheel rotation and will retard hard acceleration...sometimes even no acceleration is experienced depending on how much you've rotated the steering wheel. This is to reduce the chance of any lateral sliding or fish-tailing.
