There's been allot of opinions about the intake topic on this forum and just wanted to put my 2 cents in. I just installed the K&N FIPK and I was really surprised at the great sound that this upgrade gives the GS4. I wasn't expecting such a noticable difference in sound, but it was a pleasant surprise. It also looks great and is a solid system. I'm not sure that there's a gain in performance, but it sure does sound meaner! I'll be getting my greddy EVO in a couple of days so I'll post after the install. Safe and fun driving to all.
I have the K&N FIPK and I love it too. I also think it's gotten better sounding now that I've had it on for a while. When I first put it on I thought it was REALLY loud when I went over 4K rpms, but maybe I just got used to it, because now I just think it's awesome, especially with my L-Tuned exhaust.
Mine is going in this week. Of course my car is already loud, can't wait to see how loud post K&N. Not even close to my old Lightning with Flow Masters though, now that was a monster!
I had a first gen lightning, a 93. For the time it was really fast -- for a truck. And it handled surprisingly well. They had some at one of the race schools [Bondurant?] and they kept pace on the track with the higher end mustangs of the time. Couple years back I was about to drop a vortech SC and have other serious work done, but it just did not handle the family driver role very well. Ended up with the GS and traded the truck torward the LX. The second gen lightnings are really fast and the next generation could be even more of a kick.

You can find a list of K & N online resellers at K & N online resellers webpage. This link shows the part # and dyno # for the intake. I only checked a few of their resellers and it is around $320.
Damn you guys! This post pushed me over the edge and the K&N is on the way. Also ordered the Greddy EVO exhaust. That Suprastore site was the best deal I could find on the exhaust. About $735 delivered. None of the shops in my town could get it for me for under $925. Will give you guys my impressions as soon as everything gets put on. Can't wait
