Default Idle Problem

Sorry if this was asked earlier, i did a search but my problem is a bit different...

I have a 98 gs400 and the idle is very very low, there is a little vibration, and the car is bone stock and about 200 miles till the next oil change...

The idle is low only when the car is in drive and then the AC is off, if the car is in park there is not a low idle but some vibration with the AC off, with the AC on the car in park is fine. With the AC on and when the car is in drive the idle is fine..What is the problem?...I'm going to the dealer on monday for my oil change, but im going to have then check it out...Is there a problem with my belts? the car has low miles 34k, its unheard of at this mileage...Some help please!

MQM,

This issue has been discussed at length in a number of threads - try to search for 'low idle' and you should find a bunch.

People have tried various things to fix it with varying degrees of success including cleaning/replacing the throttle body.

Here are a few I found to get you started:

I don't believe there's any problem. Lexus cars are designed to be driven with the AC on all the time.
