Default HELP! Shifting problems

i have an 06 IS350. my check engine light was on for a fat minute and the code read that it was the torque converter. before i got the chance to get it in the shop, it went out on me. my car completely stopped shifting and it just sounded like i was reving. i had to get it towed. bottom line i got a new torque converter and it’s acting up again. having a hard time shifting 2nd to 3rd. takes really long to shift.

car has a little over 200k miles. but over all kept up on maintenance.

When the new converter was installed, did they touch the trans? Like fresh trans fluid and a new trans filter?

Might actually be cheaper to source a good, used trans and converter vs handing the car over to a shop and diagnosing and fixing whatever the problem would be.

But do your homework!
