Default O2 sensor replacement

So i got a code saying to replace Bank 1 Sensor 1 so i was googling on how to replace it and which one it actually is out of the 4. According to my research, its the upstream one on the passenger side before the cat. Now while i was googling this, i came across this article stating that you can remove the old o2 sensor, dip it in gasoline poured in a container and jiggle it around, then let it sit overnight, jiggle it some more and lightly scrubb off any excess residue then dry off and install and it should be as good as new. Is there any actual truth to this? If it works, i'd be saving myself like $316 as thats how much one costs around here.

Any input will be greatly appreciated!
