There’s a carbon filter built into the top of the air box that most of us removed as that was extra air restriction.

At some point, I'll order the F-Sport air filter. I think I asked before, but I have 2 questions:

1. Will the blue F-Sport filter be a direct replacement to the stock one for an '18 F-Sport and without any fitment/spacing issues in the stock airbox?
2. Once I add in the new filter, is it necessary to remove that filter you're referring to above? Will it be an issue if I don't?

Yes it’s a direct replacement no fitment issues and no you shouldn’t have issues if you leave the carbon filter on. I’m not sure why you would keep it on if you’re trying to increase airflow, but that’s up to you.

Thanks, what about being able to close the stock box with the new filter? I heard that there's a gap or something since the filter is slightly larger than stock?

That's correct, but I did not try to install it with the carbon filter still on the box. Idk if maybe that was the issue people were having with minor fitment problems. Either way, it should fit with no issues.
