Well, I ran the stock fuel pump for a bit and I honestly didn't run out of fuel with it but my car had like 77 000 miles on it and the pump wasn't very old so hook up an AFR Gauge when everything is together just to make sure your Fuelling is on point, you wouldn't want to run lean due to a failing pump or injectors. Also go small on the turbo, I'd say a 3071 would be perfect for response, you'll love it.

Sounds good, I'll continue my research. I will do a fuel pump upgrade since it is so cheap and easy and it may save some headache later on.

Hey this might be dumb but Im looking into the turbos we talked about and they are all t3 flanged. I can only find t4 manifolds online. Any t3 are very expensive. Am I missing something?

Has anyone had an issue with a/f being rich when driving? I have the primary o2s tied together and no secondary o2. I didn’t have issues on my last motor but I had to put another motor in and since then I’ve had a rich issue while driving and idling after driving. If I turn the car on cold my a/f are great. It’s got me stumped. It’s a 99 gs300. Stock injectors, walboro 255 fuel pump and a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. Maf in the intercooler piping before the throttle body.

Default Turbo 2001 IS300 build on stock ECU.

Hey guys. So I have started my NAT build. This is inspired by everyone in this thread and I've been in contact with @Pynoxim for some fine details on the build. Some background, I am a technician and have been for 6 years now and finished tech school this last year, lucky enough to pick up my GGP is300 with 160k for 700$ and had a wrecked parts car I got for $600. Took the engine and trans and swapped it into the GGP auto chassis and it's now got a titan cam gear, apexi safc, headers, Megan y pipe and HKS HiPower catback.

Keep in mind this is a BUDGET BUILD. So we are cutting some corners but still doing so in a safe manner. So far I have $150 in a eBay turbo manifold, $150 in a 2nd hand but new T4 GT35 .82 turbocharger. I have an eBay 1:1 fpr kit on the way and I'll update here With its quality as it may be questionable.

Things to order are, boost and afr gauges, turbo down pipe, downpipe to mid pipe section (y pipe replacement?), turbo inlet filter, intercooler and piping, 4 bolt wastegste, oil feed and return, fuel pump and probably some one step colder NGK plugs. All these items will be ordered on eBay new if I'm unable to source second hand. (If you have These items to sell please feel free to message me!)

As far as assembly I've test fit the turbo to the cheap manifold and the manifold isn't machines properly flat. Off to the machine shop we go ! I've also decided topaintmatch the cold side of the turbo to the vehicle while practicing painting as I just bought trd skirts that needed sprayed. This afternoon I've taken my oem airbox and chopped it up to make a clampable maf housing which we will use later.

This sort of thing interest me and I'll be looking forward to following your progress. I don't blame you for posting in the GS section for this, because the IS community has been dead for some time now. You should start your own build thread though. I am just finishing up my NA-T build too, however it is not a budget build. I started with a budget build and blew my engine, hence forging and going for big power. Will be happy to assist you in not destroying yours and some of the technical things of the system. What is your goal for the car? Any power goals? Drag strip or track time?

Goals equivalent to Pyroxim. 288is okay at 6psi and I have an extra engine to put go fast parts on later. I plan to do some occasional sliding and track time after a real tune

Well I do have quite a bit of parts available from my lower power build. A Walbro 255 pump, 550cc injectors with connectors, an AEM FIC-6 ecu with an 8psi tune on it that would work for a good base line on the 550's. Plus a plug and play harness for the IS300. Spare new condition 4" inlet cone filter, heck all kinds of things if you are interested. All top name brand quality stuff and only used for my first dyno pull. Let me know if you are interested.
