Default How hard to add quad tips to exhaust?

I have been waiting for a real exhaust made for the 2017 to come out and the major manufacturers are slow and don't have immediate plans to make an updated version with quad tips to fit the new rear diffuser.

Is is possible to buy an axle back like an f sport, tanabe, invidia or Joe Z axle back for the pre 2017 IS and have a shop cut off the single tips and weld dual tips?

Does that hurt the integrity of the exhaust to do that? Is it an easy thing for a shop to do?

if that's the case, then I can buy one and take it to a shop and just have them throw some nice quad tips on and like it up and I'm good to go.

Thanks

1. It is possible.
2. Have you looked at the Invidia axle back exhaust for the RC? Axle backs are interchangeable since they have the same hanger locations.
3. It won't hurt the integrity.
4. Any decent muffler shop should be able to take care of it no problem.

Curious, how do this work? Is it just bolt onto the existing exhaust tips? (I have fsport exhaust)

Typically the tips are cut off and the new ones are welded on. This can be done by pretty much any muffler or fabrication shop in under an hour. We also offer a few single-to-dual tips which you can see here on our site:
