Default Misfire, what else can it be ?

I've changed my spark plugs ,spark plug wires ,and ignition coils? I reset the check engine light and it came back on again saying I still have a misfire ? Anyone have any suggestions ? I was told my fuel injectors are fine so what else can cause my misfire ?

Also worst case check compression, if its off enough the car will misfire.

That is one other thing I've had in mind ,compression ,what are components of compression ? Like pistons ? Exhaust valves? What exactly is it ? And how would I be able to check it?

Primary O2 sensors going bad can cause random misfires and is very common.

Also ****ty gas, old gas, or water in gas can cause misfires too.

Whats the year and mileage of the car?

Make sure your throttle is clean.

I had a terrible, I mean terrible misfire in my LX last week. I know it's about GS's on this thread but I'm gonna share what I did. I put it on my scanner & it read both cats, o2 sensor + htr sensor & had misfire in cylinder 2 & 4. Check engine light came on & started blinking. Changed the plugs & a few coils & new gas cap. Took throttle cleaner & sprayed the throttle & used a brush to break up carbon deposit. Still it misfired. Poured seafoam into the intake while the truck ran s 2000rpm. Got a little better but still misfired. I ran across an article about using lacquer thinner in the tank. So what I did was burn the gas I had out til the trip meter read "0" miles to empty. Poured 1 gallon, yes 1 gallon of lacquer thinner in my tank then filled it up to a half tank. Says drive at least 100 mile but I drove around that whole day just to empty that mixture out. Long story short later that day my cel went out, no more rough idling & misfire. Truck back to normal. Lacquer thinner has strong solvents & it does absorb & dries water up. Today is Wednesday March 1st 2017. & I did this mixture a Wednesday Feb 22nd 2017. Still no problems

I am having the same issue, but the misfire didn't start until after I replaced my spark plugs. I replaced them originally because I could feel the car bogging down under boost. Replaced plugs and gapped them at .44. Installed brand new Coil Pack connectors and even swapped out my coils for other used coils I know are good, still misfire. I used some maf cleaner and cleaned the maf but same issue. Misfire at idle but give it some gas and it sounds better or when its in gear , but in park or neutral with no throttle it will misfire

Chek128, the lacquer thinner method works. The solvents in it is designed for cleaning and water absorption. Try it out. Just know you gotta burn it out. It'll clean your injectors, plugs & cat.

and I just got word after my diagnostic that it was my variable valve timing solenoid that was confusing my ecu thinking I have a misfire ,and something about not giving enough spark ,but I crossed my fingers and changed my variable valve timing solenoid ,can my fuel filter cause my engine to hesistate when I accelerate at about 1000-3000 rpm and only when I go from 0-20 mph?
