I currently have Invidia Q300 titanium tip exhaust. I've been contemplating if I should keep the blue burnt effect on the tips (can be removed by polishing). Do you guys think it will be cleaner without or should I keep them? My car is UW IS350 F-Sport.

 

Definitely remove the blue. This isn't a 1990s fast and furious car.

I think luxury nameplates should have class. The blue is r1cey in my opinion! Send your Lexus into adulthood and remove the blue!! =)

 

LOL!!! This is one of the reasons why I'm thinking about removing them. I'm not sure if it fits the Lexus and might appear ricey. I'm starting to lean more on the polished and cleaner look. Thanks for your input!

Sure! I actually did this yesterday and it came out perfect! I used mothers mag and aluminum polish bought from Autozone. Each tip took approx. 20-30 mins. Just keep polishing with a rag and re-appliying the paste as needed. You will know you are removing the anodize by the black material that you see on your rag. Once the blue anodize is completely gone, polish it up with a microfiber cloth. Also, go ahead and polish the whole tip for a nice even finishing shine.

Don't worry you won't ruin any finish. You are basically just removing the burnt anodized affect on the titanium material. Polishing it out removes it down to the bare finish, much like the rest of the tip that is not anodized. Here is the product:

I also have burnt tips on my ark exhaust and the only regret was I should've ordered them with the polished finish but at the time I was like let's go with something interesting... When I got it installed and immediately thought damn too ricey lol. But I'll be converting to a quad tip setup eventually so I'll just have to do this until I find the right diffuser/tips setup.

 

Yeah imo the burnt tips are just too much for the car. My modded Evo days are over and time to be less flashy on the Lexus. Show us pics once you're done for the folks with Ark that wants to do this.

 

I just bought a Q300 axle back with the TI-tips too... I hope I don't feel the same way after I install it, however, at least now I know how to get the blue off. Thanks!

That's personal preference. Do what you like the most.

 

I also polished off the blue tint off the tips because it did not match the rest of my appearance mods.
