Today I removed the resonator from my IS250 because it was too quiet and I wanted a mild growl. I went to the muffler shop to delete the resonator, but kept the original muffler. Removing the resonator slightly increased the sound, but not as loud when comparing to resonator delete + magnaflow muffler or changing the mid-pipe. Honestly, the car sounds so much better after removing the resonator, which I think should've been the stock sound. The resonator delete on the 350 will be louder than the 250. No check engine lights or drone while driving. You can't really hear the growl unless the radio is off or windows down. On the freeway you will not notice any difference.
In terms of volume I will set the stock sound to 0 and show you below how much it increased.
Could you please post a video I may be interested in doing this as I have a magnaflow muffler.
Here's a video of the resonator delete. My muffler specialist said to install the Magnaflow muffler as well
So resonator delete + Magnaflow muffler will sound amazing.
Sorry to raise an old thread- has anyone else recently done this on the 3GIS?
I've been calling around for quotes to get this done and most shops keep saying, "it's a newer car, gotta bring it in.."
A few shops did quote about 200-250 (!?!?) for such a simple task. Not sure if this is just a dumb estimate that they said due to them "not knowing" what the actual resonator looks like on the car, or if they're just trying to rip me off.
At that rate I'd rather spend a couple more bills and get the invidia mid-pipe to pair with the axle back that is currently on the car.

defintely tryna rip you off..I’ve got this done to my is though I forgot what I paid should be somewhere in the 80-120 range
Appreciate it, fam.
I was completely at a loss for words when I got my first phone quote of $250, I was like "uhh.."
Did you use stainless or aluminum piping? I would go stainless since here in Chicago..
no problem! I went stainless piping. If you do go to
a muffler shop and get it done make sure it’s a reputable shop. I definitely did my research before going to any shop
for my resonator+muffler delete(also it doesn’t hurt to negotiate with them I tend to bull***** them and be like the other shop said 150 and you’re charging me more?) it usually works haha
