Default Intake modification

Has anyone tried to use the F Sport intake with the stock box and cut a hole in the bottom of the box to draw real cold air from the lower area? A hole would go through the area behind the headlight in the sheet metal. I have done this with other cars with good result.

The F Sport box with its hole in the front drawing hot air is really a poor design.

The added noise people talk about is in part to little box being deleted on the stock air tube. It called a "Hemoltz Box " or something like that tuned to a certain resonance.

I've read of at least one member cutting into the sheet metal and piping in a "CAI" through the hole. Definitely better than the hot air intake most of us run...including myself. LOL!

I used to have an F-Sport intake and I took it off and got the PPE true cold air intake. The intake actually extends into the area behind the fog light and pulls air from the front of the car and not the engine bay only. Definitely worth it for sound and boost in power when compared to the F-Sport..

Rigging your own though can have it's benefits too
