Without getting unfettered access to the ECU, this car is never going to make that sort of power. Get the Mustang.

The PPE Headers have been available. It's the same setup as the 2is.
The only exception is the o2 conditioner (black box) wiring that splices into the ECU/PCM.

They have updated instructions for the wiring too though.

Well if you want 400hp+ this is not the car for you unless you put a supercharger on it maybe...check what Stillen are developing.

You'll never duplicate the 400hp as you're already starting down 2 cylinders without going boosted.

For the sake of headaches, just go after a V8. Though, the 6th Gen Camaro is going to make more power than the mustang (FYI, the Camaro has been 426hp since 2010). Furthermore, the LTx engine is going to be much easier to mod for even more power. For the price to mess around with a supercharger on the IS, you could take a LT1 (do not confuse that with 1LT, which is a trim) Camaro, cam it, and make upwards to 600 at the crank.

Or, if the wife doesn't want you getting a new car, go for a softly used 2012+ Camaro. The LS3 is a great & proven motor and easily modable. Heck, I'm having my engine and drive train torn down next spring to put 520hp to the ground (~610hp at the crank). The 2011+ 5.0 Mustang is also a great car, its light and quick right out the door. Or, if you want high hp stock (to avoid modding), go with a 2013+ GT500 (662 hp at the crank) or 2012+ ZL1 (580 hp at the crank). You can find those lightly used all over the mustang and Camaro forums as guys are trying to unload them in prep for the next generation. And dont' let anyone tell you that you can't daily drive these cars either. People do it everyday. Others elect not to just so they can keep miles off (like myself)

Now keep in mind, if you're used to driving an IS350 with 300hp, its a large step going to 400, and even larger going above that. With great hp comes a great need in being able to handle it. There is a reason you don't see guys driving 600hp cars like ***-clowns. Just saying so someone doesn't find you wrapped around a tree.

Just think you'll never use those 400 hp unless you're at the track....... But the Mustang is a beautiful car for sure....

lol The OP lives in Texas...there are PLENTY of roads to utilize 400hp. So many people default to that stupid comment.

I think for most parts of the country that isn't true. 400 hp isn't that much. I think when you get into the 600+ area is where it become unusable on the street (maybe excluding Texas from what I've heard).

If you're unstable at 600hp, it just means your suspension & tire setup is junk

IMO, the C6 isn't that impressive, I think its leaps and bounds behind the C7. Now, you won't get a C7 for that kind of pricing, but its such a leap ahead you may just want to wait and save. I'm saving for a C7 Z06 myself. Plus, I think you'll find daily driving a vette is a harsh ride depending on the model you pick. So it depends how much you enjoy your smooth lexus feel.

You will be hard pressed to get a Mustang GT or Camaro SS for under 40,000 loaded. You would have to cut off some options to get it where you need it.

The new Camaro is lighter by utilizing the ATS frame, but to be honest, the 5th gen isn't bad. The additional weight helps with planting it.
