Default 1/4 mile track day

This is the fastest time I can do on a day with 90 degree weather, full tank.

This is the first time ever at the track for me so I cant say I have much experience.

I am on the left. This is not in sport or + mode.

F-sport exhaust on my car and stock intake.

What can I do to go faster?

I know next time less gas and a cooler day, other than that any other hints?

there's a combination of things that can "help," but don't expect to break 12's or 13's w/o boost.

-the lighter the better...not run on a full tank. remove un-needed weight (ie donut tire, tools, stuff laying around in car.

-high octane gas

-cooler ambient temp

-release some air from tires

-squeeze (nitrous oxide...aka nos)

-practice...practice...practice...getting used to the Christmas tree and having a good reaction time. you want to have a RT as close to .500 as possible.

as far as mods, we're still limited. there are ppe headers available, better flowing intake (stock filter element is very restrictive), better midpipe. stillen is currently r&d'ing a supercharger now.

there are other things that can be done, but items listed are probably a quick and easy tasks to look at.

I think you can run lower with 1/4 gas tank, TC off and lower rear tire pressure. Have you try with sport + mode on? Custom midepipe and PPE header will help.

Were you in auto or manual mode? Did you have the traction off (just pushed the button or pushed/held until dash light came on?)

Most people do it for better traction and grip. Also try to brake launch at 1200rpm.

I haven't raced in years but I always increased the front tire pressure for less rolling resistance.

Use the DA calculator on drag times to get your corrected times.
Also, I thought lowering rear tires got you off the line quicker but redcued top end speed due to more resistance.

As for OP, work on your launch. I really think sub-2 second 60' time should be possible in a 350.

I heard 15 gain with PPE header. I wonder how fast 1/4? With Intake, header, exhaust.
