kdubb,

Your biggest obstacle will be traction (especially after adding the t/c)

I have SRT intake (w/race ECU) and T/C on stock 17" wheels running Nitto Extreme drag radials in the rear. My best time on a drag strip is 14.2 (96mph trap speed), but I know with better traction I could hit high 13's. My best 60 foot time is 2.19. The launch pads for all drag strips I've been to in So. Cal are designed for cars with slicks (which I have on order now). My tires spin like crazy even after heating them up for 20 seconds. I know I'll get better times with the slicks. You also may want to consider an LSD which will improve traction issues.

Other members have had better experiences with drag strips in other states. I have yet to see a GS4 run in the 13 in So. Cal (except for a guy who was running a 175 nitrous kit). I saw a guy with intake, t/c, exhaust and 19's run 14.6.

Good luck to you and post your times.

klynchgs4,

I'm surprised that you're spinning the drag radials, I've seen them hold a monster amount of HP/Torque here at the dragstrips in Texas. Squirt some VHT in front of your rear tires and roll through it before you stage up next time, that should help your spinning problem.

Of course depending on your setup, some spinning is preferable to absolute grip. I'm interested to see what my car runs in the quarter, I'll be comparing it to my RT/TT which was a modest 12.50 car. Has anyone used a GTech before? I'm thinking about picking one up as the drag strip is way on the other side of town and I have to wait till the weekends to do dyno runs.

Yes, I've used a G-Tech (both the old and new). My old one was showed times which were .1 to .15 seconds more favorable than the time slips. The new one is much closer to reality (ranges from .05 to .08 differences). I've run 13.8's on the street using the g-tech (late at night w/ no body around), which is why I think I can hit high 13's at a strip with slicks. The new g-tech gives you a lot more info (60 foot times, reaction time, 1/8 mile times, etc.) It's a little trickier than the old one, but more reliable and gives more info.

thanks for all the help. i love the GS4, but coming from a modded Z06 to this car, I still yearn for more power.

13s are there if you get your lauch and traction down.
