Default Lextreme TC installed. WOW!!!

Well I cant really afford the nice and pricey PI TC so I went the next best route with the Lextreme rebuilt with a 2800 stall.

At first glance car is screaming fast out of the hole and easily breaks tires loose. I have not taken it to the track but I am sure with the new TC and SRT intake I will be doing better than the past.

With the stock setup on the car I could only manage a best 1/4 of 14.89 at 94mph. After the intake I was not able to get into the 14's anymore BUT my trap speed went up to 96 to 95 mph on almost every run. I was expecting this from the other threads I have read. Now with the introduction of the new TC I am sure I will be in the 14's all the time.

Don't think that my times are bad at only a 14.89 the track here REALLY sux and that is consistant with almost every GS that has ran at the track.

Will post more later.

how much was for installation and the TC itself?

I was thinking of getting the lextreme TC, but I dont know much about its reliability.

It cost my right around $400. But that also replaced a few seals and stuff that they decided to do since my car does have 121k on it. The guy from lextreme was more than happy to help me and called to be sure all was going ok. He also wanted me to go out and run the hell out of it and try and tear it up. He stands by his work 1000% Great group to deal with. He told me they went through 2 transmissions and could never break the TC. Plus can't go wrong when he has a two year waranty behind it as well.

Wow, great to hear someone has one and is happy w/ it.About a year ago I tried to find anyone that had the lextrreme TC. I was more interested in If it would work on the GS430. I picked up a used GS400 TC to get modified by Lextrme. I paid $125 for it and I think it had 45K miles. Add I think$175 for the Lextreme mod. $300 total, not bad if you get the same results a s PI's TC and it last.
Mine is still sitting in the garage.

I noticed gains with mine quite abit but because of the noise I took it off, but I am debating on getting another one lol. I also noticed a decent gain MPG. I have a gs300 not a 400. Where did you get your TC from?

so you are satisified with the lextreme TC 2,800 stall. i was leaning towards the Precision Industries TC, but it costs too damn much. i think i'm going to order the Lextreme TC. any other members with the Lextreme TC, please give some feedbacks. just installed the 3.76 LSD, now i need a TC.

Yes I noticed a pretty descent raise in MPG as well. I purchased my TC from Lextreme At www.lextreme.com If you purchase from him then send back your core the TC only really cost you like $190.... He credits you back $175 when he gets your old TC.

So far I am more than satisfied... I was leaning toward the PI TC as well but for the price I was kind of turned away. Then I found this and sure am glad I did. A very solid product and makes the car scream off the line now.

I highly recommend it unless you got the cash for the PI. I would rather spend the money I save on headers or exhaust so that is my next route. Good luck.

Can't really tell anything at all to be honest with you just that is you are cruising along at 25 and want to go then be careful cause the rearend might end up infront of you. The only thing I have noticed as of yet is if I am on a big hill at stop light under light throttle you can hear the TC engage a little more than the older one. Besides that driveability in town is the same.

let me know if your gas mileage changes. I'm getting 13mpg in the city so I hope the TC doesn't bring it down to the sub-10 range. lol.

sadly..i baby it. my commute is purely stop and go every 15 seconds. I wish school wasn't 2 miles down the road. If i had to take the freeway, i'd be much happier.
